CONWAY, SOUTH CAROLINA — The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's cross country team competed in the Chanticleer Challenge, hosted by Coastal Carolina University at the Hackler Course in Conway, South Carolina, on Friday.
The Sand Sharks finished fourth overall with 103 points in the 5K meet with five new season best times. . Host Coastal Carolina won the team competition, while Megan Dolan claimed the individual title.
Avrie Farrington paced the Sand Sharks as she led USCB, finishing 22nd overall with a new season-best time of 20:58.57.
Grace Murphy was next for the Sand Sharks, placing 25th overall in 21:42.30, also recording a new season best.
Freshman Charlotte Lee finished 27th overall with a new season-best time of 21:55.94.
Kelsey Trayford placed 31st overall, crossing the finish line in 24:58.77 for a new season best.
Rounding out the USCB scoring runners was Alexis Moore, who finished 32nd overall in 25:18.81, establishing a new season-best mark for 2026.
The Sand Sharks return to action on Oct. 10 when USCB hosts the 19th annual Sand Shark Invitational at Sergeant Jasper County Park.
