RAPID CITY, SD-The USCB women's golf team will get their first taste of competition at an NAIA National Championship as they will compete beginning Tuesday at the Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City, SD. The Sand Sharks will be paired with Victoria, BC and St. Ambrose, Iowa in the first two rounds of the 72 hole tournament which will conclude on Friday. USCB was ranked sixth nationally in the final NAIA poll. The number one ranked team, Embry Riddle, is one of four Sun Conference teams who will participate in the championships along with USCB, SCAD and Northwood.
Coach
Chris Cuneo hopes his team “will find that same magic the team had at the end of the season.” He also said “The course is in good shape and is in a glorious setting surrounded by the Black Hills.”
Leading USCB will be a pair of All Conference honorees. Both Adrianna Saavedra and Kaitlyn O'Sullivan were name to the Sun Conference team for 2010. Saavedra also finished fourth at Sun Conference Championships as she and her teammates garnered the runner-up trophy behind Embry Riddle.
