CLEVELAND, TENNESSEE – The University of South Carolina women's golfer McLain Neal closed out round one at the NCAA DII South Regional Tournament on Monday at Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tennessee. She is competing individually in the tournament for a chance to go to the tournament championship which will begin on Tuesday, May 12 and continue through Saturday, May 16 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Neal finished the first 18 holes with a 76 (+4), tying for 23rd overall out of 96 golfers. She recorded 14 pars in the opening round, which is tied for second-most in the regional.
After round one, the top three teams in the regional are Lynn, Wingate, and Erskine. The individual leaderboard is led by Olivia Meinecke of Wingate.
The tournament will conclude after round three on Wednesday. Round two will continue Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
