Senior Luke McClellan shot even-par 70 to earn medalist honors and help the University of South Carolina Beaufort eke out a three-shot victory over the University of Dayton in a dual meet Friday at Chechessee Creek Club.
McClellan edged junior teammate Travis Cashion by two shots for the day's best score, as the duo led USCB to a team total of 296, just good enough to top the NCAA Division I Flyers.
Sophomore Coley Davis (76), senior Mark Phillips (78) and senior Tyler Jacobs (81) rounded out the lineup. Junior Dylan Mixon shot an 83, but his score did not count toward the Sand Sharks' team total.
The Sand Sharks have nearly a month off before their next action, a dual meet against Wittenberg (Ohio) on March 8 at the Golf Club at Indigo Run on Hilton Head Island.
