MIAMI LAKES, FLORIDA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort Men's Golf team is competing at the Battle at the Lakes tournament, hosted by Barry University. The Sand Sharks are off to a strong start, sitting in first place overall with an impressive total of -17. Dylan Allen is at the top of the leaderboard.

As a team, USCB totaled 559 (-17) after posting a 277 (-11) in round one and a 282 (-6) in round two. Dylan Allen leads the field with a total of 135 (-9).

Allen finished the first day with a best round of 66 (-6) and a round two of 69 (-3), which was the best score of the tournament on the first day. He led the field with 13 birdies and added 14 pars. Allen also recorded two eagles on the opening day.

Aaron Williams is second on the overall leaderboard with a total of 139 after the first two rounds. He carded a 69 and a 70 in the first two rounds. Williams posted 19 pars over the first 36 holes, in addition to 12 birdies, the second most on the team and the tournament.

Tied for 15th overall is Nikolai Holme with a total of 144, having carded a 70 in round one and a 74 in round two. Holme registered nine birdies on day one, in addition to 19 pars.

Octavio Laurent finished tied for 25th overall after the first day. He improved in round two, following a 77 in round one with a 69 (-3) in round two. Laurent led the Sand Sharks with 22 pars on day one and added seven birdies.

In 41st overall, Christofer Hammar finished with a total of 148 after carding a 72 in the first round followed by a 76. He totaled eight birdies and 18 pars for the Sand Sharks.

The Sand Sharks will close out the tournament at the Battle at the Lakes on Tuesday, located at the Miami Lakes Golf Club.
