OKATIE, S.C. — The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team avenged last week's narrow loss to rival SCAD Savannah with a victory in the second match of a home-and-home dual series Friday, carding a team score of 297 to beat the Bees by 19 strokes at Oldfield Golf Club.
Junior Brian Langley led the Sand Sharks with a 1-under-par 71 to claim medalist honors, followed by freshman Cory Cottrell with a 1-over 73. Sophomore Andrew McCullough (75) and senior Travis Cashion (78) rounded out the scoring for USCB, and junior Owen Bell (79) completed the lineup.
Neale Barnes led SCAD with a 74, followed by Julian Dinsing with a 76. Taylor Sargeant (80) and Rasa Lazarevic (86) also contributed to the team score, and Dylan O'Leary (89) rounded out the lineup.
Competing as individuals for USCB were: sophomore Chris Finke (77), senior Tyler Jacobs (77), freshman Bradford Curren (80), sophomore Ryan Clancy (82), freshman Alex Mihai (82) and sophomore Shane Goldsmith (89).
Competing as individuals for SCAD were: Diego Lamadrid (77), Tom Mather (79), Andres Escobar (82) and Max Garcia (90).
The Sand Sharks are back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Doublegate Invitational at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga.
