TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Vanessa Schloo leads the USCB women's golf team after the opening round of The Sun Conference Championship on Sunday, as the senior is in a tie for sixth after 18 holes at the PGA National - Fazio Course.
Schloo paced the Sand Sharks on Sunday, as the senior is in a three-way tie for sixth on the individual leaderboard. The German native opened the three-day conference tournament with a 4-over 76 round. She played level for most of the day, as she collected 13 pars and one birdie.
Junior Blanca Porta is right behind her teammate, as she is in sole possession of 13th. The Spain native opened the postseason tournament with a 7-over 79. She had a very strong back nine, as she inked six pars and one birdie.
Krystal Sung is one stroke back of Porta at 8-over 80. She is in a six-way tie for 14th after 18 holes of action at the Fazio Course.
Deliah Prescha rounded out the qualifying scores for the Sand Sharks at 10-over 82. She had the most birdies on the team with two.
As a team, USCB is in sole possession of fourth out of nine teams in the league outing. The Sand Sharks opened the tournament at 29-over 317 and is two strokes away from tying the third place team - Southeastern.
No. 2 SCAD holds the team lead at 12-over 300, but top-ranked Keiser is just two strokes back at 14-over 302.
Two Seahawks - Samantha Fuller and Michela Tjan - hold the top spot on the individual leaderboard at 1-over 73.
The second round of The Sun Conference Championship will start at 9:42 a.m. on Monday for the Sand Sharks. Prescha will be the first golfer to tee off for USCB, and the Sand Sharks will be paired with No. 21 Coastal Georgia and Thomas.
