SEBRING, Fla. - The USCB men's golf team returns to the links on Monday, Oct. 12, as the Sand Sharks will compete in the two-day Webber Fall Classic at the Sun 'N Lake Golf Club.
Last Time Out
The Sand Sharks went head-to-head in their first dual match of the 2020-21 season, as they faced off with No. 1 Coastal Georgia at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. USCB, unfortunately, lost by 16 strokes. However, the Sand Sharks improved, as a team, by 12 strokes from the first to second round.
Senior Tyler Fox was exceptional in the two-round outing, as he finished third on the individual leaderboard (best career finish). The Bluffton, S.C. native finished with a 3-under 141 (73-68), and the 4-under 68 second-round performance was the best round score in his career.
Tristin Galant make a big improvement from the first to second round, as the rookie shaved off five strokes (first round - 74/second round- 69). The 3-under 69 second-round score was also a career-low for the freshman.
Jonas Demant, who played as an individual, rounded out of the top-10 finishes for USCB in 10th place. He finished the outing with a 6-over 150 (74-76) score.
Three other Sand Sharks - Caelan Sammy, Christoph Hagenauer and Dawson Peters - tied one another for 11th place. The three Sand Shark golfers shot a 7-over 151.
About the Outing
The two-day Webber Fall Classic begins on Monday, Oct. 12 and concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Hosting the outing is Sun Conference foe Webber International.
The tournament is held at the Sun 'N Lake Golf Club, which is a par-72 course and runs 7,037 yards in length. Last year, the tournament was a three-team field, and St. Thomas won the team title by eight strokes over Webber International.
USCB is sending five golfers to the tournament, and the Sand Sharks' lineup is below.

What's Next?
USCB will conclude its fall portion of the 2020-21 season, as it will travel to St. Simons, Ga. for the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. The outing is two days in length and begins on Monday, Oct. 26.
