SEBRING, Fla. - To conclude the 2020 Webber Fall Classic, Jacob Thomas finished in fifth place following the two-day tournament, while the USCB men's golf team placed tied for third at the Sun 'N Lake Golf Club on Oct. 13. 

Day Two Highlights

Thomas continued his success at the two-day tournament, as the junior posted a 2-over 74 to end his three-round tournament at even-par 216 (70-72-74). Thomas finished in fifth place, as he edged the sixth-place finisher by one stroke. He was also just three strokes back from jumping into the top 3.

Dawson Peters slipped two spots on the individual leaderboard (13th place), as he posted a 4-over 76 on the final day of the Webber Fall Classic. He rounded out the tournament at 9-over 225 (76-73-76).

Tyler Fox rounded out the top-15 finishes for USCB (tied for 14th) on the individual leaderboard. Fox ended his outing with a 10-over 226 (75-73-78), and he was just three strokes off from moving into the top 10.

Tristin Galant and Turner Wegener rounded out the individual spots for the Sand Sharks. Freshman Galant placed tied for 20th at 15-over 231 (74-78-79), and freshman Wegener finished in 22nd place at 20-over 236 (83-75-78).

The Sand Sharks held onto third place on the team leaderboard, as they finished in a tie for third with host-school Webber International. USCB ended the two-day Webber Fall Classic with a 30-over 894 score (295-293-306).

Lucas Cena of Keiser made a huge jump on the final day, as the Seahawk etched a stellar 8-under 64 on Tuesday. He won the individual title by six strokes, as he finished 11-under 205 (69-72-64). Matt Gauntlett of Eastern Florida State finished runner up at 5-under 211. 

What's Next?

USCB will conclude its fall portion of the 2020-21 season, as it will travel to St. Simons, Ga. for the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. The outing is two days in length and begins on Monday, Oct. 26.
