MIAMI, Fla. - For the first time this outdoor season, USCB track and field athlete Iyana McKeever garnered the Sun Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor on Monday, April 19 following her performance at the Embry-Riddle Invite on Saturday.

The honor marks her second career outdoor recognition during her tenure at USCB.

McKeever only competed in one event on Saturday in Daytona Beach, Fla., and the senior capitalized with a new personal and school record in the women's long jump. The senior from Statesboro, Ga. made a leap of 5.75m, which bested the runner-up by 0.13m and also met the NAIA standard for the National Championship.

With her jump, McKeever bested a school record that has been standing since Jhari Williams' jump of 5.66m at the UNF Invitational in 2017.

McKeever and both the men's and women's track and field teams will rest and prepare for the two-day Sun Conference Championship, which will be held from May 1-2 in Bradenton, Fla.
