KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior Dawson Peters and junior Jacob Thomas were named NAIA Men's Golf All-Americans on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 following their performances during the 2020-21 season.

Peters was named a First Team All-American, while Thomas collected Second Team recognition.

Thomas and Peters are both ranked in the top 30 individually, according to golfstat.com. Following his outstanding performance at the NAIA Championship, Thomas finished the season ranked 27th in the nation, while Peters slotted in 30th overall.

Thomas finished inside the top 5 four times, including winning the dual match versus SCAD. In the lone victory of the 2020-21 season, Thomas shot 2-under 70 at Savannah Quarters Country Club. In his runner-up outing at the Oldfield Classic, Thomas shot even-par or better in two rounds.

Twice this season, the junior shot 6-under 66. The first occurrence came during the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational, while the second 66 score came during the DI Oldfield Classic. 

Highlighting his season was his outstanding performance at the NAIA Championship. He was the only Sand Shark to make the cut at the national tournament. After making the cut, he improved up the leaderboard by shooting 1-over 72 and even-par 71 to finish tied for 13th nationally.

Peters has won three tournaments this year and has earned five trophies during his tenure at USCB (two seasons). This year the senior won the DI Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate, the DI Oldfield Classic and most-recently the Roadrunner Classic.

The Iowa native had a team-best 72.77 scoring average this year, which features a career-best round 6-under 66. That season-low round was inked in the second round of the Roadrunner Classic and also matched a career best at USCB.

Peters has also finished inside the top 15 in 20 of the last 22 tournaments.
