BLUFFTON, S.C. - The 2022 World Soccer Talk Awards were unveiled on Aug. 1, and former USCB women's soccer player, Poppy Miller, was named the Best TV Presenter, as voted on by fans.
Miller is a studio host for CBS Sports HQ where she also became a host for CBS Sports' coverage of Serie A. She presented stories on the show from light-hearted entertainment to deep analysis in soccer.
Out of 2,023 total votes, Miller collected 33 percent (670 votes) en route to edging NBC's and NBC Sport's Rebecca Lowe by 147 votes. Other nominees for the award, included Kate Abdo, Sebastian Salazar, Kay Murray, Dan Thomas, Rob Stone and Steve Bower.
After graduating from USCB in 2017, Miller had several titles when working for the Charleston Battery - TV/Digital Reporter and Content Producer as well as Commentator and Host. After working for the USL (
United Soccer League) soccer club, she started working as a MLS (Major League Soccer) Reporter before adding SEC Network Host and Commentator for ESPN and Studio Host for CBS Sports to her resume.
Playing as a midfielder/defender at USCB, she saw a lot of action on the pitch, which included 69 appearances and 51 starts. She ended her four-year career with two career goals along with four assists. Her first collegiate goal came in a Sun Conference matchup, where USCB downed Warner - 5-1.
