MORROW, Ga. - The Sand Sharks needed just one goal, as Synne Bye-Andersen's fifth goal of the season propelled USCB women's soccer to the best start in program history, defeating Clayton State 1-0 Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
USCB had its first opportunity in the 15th minute after Mari Kalvatn deeked a Laker attacker and sent a through ball to Bye-Andersen, who streaked down the right side and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper. However, the shot was saved by the Clayton State goalkeeper.Â
After the Sand Shark defense created a turnover close to midfield, Page sent a ball down the right side to Bye-Andersen, scoring her fourth goal in two games to give USCB a 1-0 in the 28th minute.Â
Clayton State kept the pressure throughout the second half outshooting the Sand Sharks, 10-4, but the play of Worrell kept the Lakers off the board. The sophomore goalkeeper recorded a season-high six saves.Â
USCB also collected its first-ever victory as a member of the Peach Belt Conference.Â
