HOW IT HAPPENED
The Sand Sharks went to work quickly and often by taking advantage of three Saint errors. Whitlock started off the game with a single, and Daryn Miller and Jaci Coleman reached thanks to fielding errors. Reynolds made it hurt with a two-RBI single, and two batters later, Coleman was able to touch home thanks to an FC error to go up by three.
Flagler closed the gap in the next two innings by scoring one in the first and two in the second.
After scoreless third and fourth innings for both teams, Flagler took its first lead of the day, 6-3, with three runs in the fifth.
Turner was able to pull one run closer, as she blasted her first career homer in the sixth.
However, the Saints quickly answered with two more runs to add to their lead to hold a 8-4 lead into the seventh.
USCB didn't cave though in the final inning. Freeman made the contest interesting with a two-run blast with one out. The inning continued, but USCB left one runner on base in the two-run loss, 8-6.
