HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - After washing out the second day of the Lowcountry Intercollegiate on Saturday, the USCB women's golf team wrapped up play at the DI tournament on Sunday hosted by Wofford at Moss Creek Golf Club.
Day Three Highlights
Ashleigh Mead continued to lead the Sand Sharks, as she posted a 70s score - 7-over 79. She penciled two birdies, both of which were par-4s. She had her best success from holes 1-9, where she went an even-par 36. Overall, she finished in a tie for 36th at 17-over 161.
Jessica Hoeft had the second-best round for USCB on Sunday at 14-over 86. She finished tied for 88th. She came away with one birdie, which was recorded on hole 12.
Cassie Tasney shot a 16-over 88 on Sunday. Highlighting her day was posting an eagle on the par-5, hole 11. Tasney placed 97th at 37-over 181.
Jessica Edwards and Kirsta Thomson finished near one another at tied for 98th and 100th, respectively.
As a team, USCB improved their team score by 12 strokes from the first to second round. The Sand Sharks placed 18th out of 19 teams.
Quinnipiac won the team honors after shooting a team-best 14-over 302.
Madyson Gold of UNC Asheville held on to the top spot to take home the top honors. The Bulldog posted a 4-over 148 at the two round outing.
What's Next?
The Sand Sharks will ready for their final regular-season tournament of the season - the Bearcat Invitational. Lander will play host of the two-day tournament from March 27-28 in Greenwood, S.C.
