Neal shoots 2-under, USCB in seventh after two rounds

MCCORMICK -- Sophomore McLain Neal carded USCB's lone under-par round at 2-under, putting her tied with teammate Ashleigh Mead at +5 as USCB moved into seventh on the leaderboard after shooting 299 as a team in the second round of the Savannah Lakes Invitational at the Monticello Golf Club Monday afternoon.

"Today was our best team day of the year," said coach Cory Cottrell. "It was great to get a round under par posted by McLain. I'm hoping we can continue to move up the board in the final round."

After shooting five-over in yesterday's round, Mead carded a 1-over 73 to remain in the top-10. Katharina Tieves improved her second round by three strokes finishing 2-over while Jessica Edwards finished the round with an 82 and Jennifer Larsson an 85.

USCB competes in the final round of the Savannah Lakes Invitational tomorrow.
