Round Two: Versyp unveils 2024-25 women’s hoops schedule

| By:
BLUFFTON -- After an inaugural season that laid the foundation for the years to come, head coach Sharon Versyp announced the 2024-25 season schedule. Highlighted by 14 home games, Beaufort will look to build upon the strong finish to the 2023-24 season.

The season begins with two home games versus St. Andrews and Allen on Nov. 9 and Nov. 11. Return games against Paine College and Voorhees follow as the Sand Sharks hit the road for the first time. USCB welcomes Edward Waters to the Lowcountry for a rematch with the Tigers on Nov. 23. Beaufort and Savannah State rekindle the "River Rivalry" at Enmarket Area before Thanksgiving before traveling south to Barry.

Peach Belt play starts a little early this season as USCB travels to Augusta on Dec. 7 before returning home to welcome Lees-McRae. The Sand Sharks end 2024 on the road at Regent on Dec. 17.

USCB plays nine of their next 17 games at home – all Peach Belt games – first with Clayton State on Jan. 4, before back-to-back road contests with Lander and GSW. Georgia College and North Georgia make their way to the Cove on Jan. 15 and 18. The Sand Sharks defeated these two Peach State teams at home last season, a 67-64 win over the Bobcats and a 66-59 victory against the Nighthawks.

The Palmetto Battle with USC Aiken is slated for a Jan. 22 showdown and then Flagler comes back to Bluffton for a 1 p.m. matinee.  USCB ends January with a trip to Columbus before opening February against the Lakers. Lander and GSW come to town on Feb. 5 and 8 and then consecutive road games against GCSU and UNG follow. The Pacers make their way to Bluffton on Feb. 19 and the Sand Sharks wrap up its PBC road schedule in St. Augustine on Feb. 22.

Columbus State and Augusta round out the home portion of Peach Belt play on Feb. 26 and Mar. 1 before the Peach Belt Conference Championship begins on Mar. 5.
