BLUFFTON -- Concluding the Oldfield Classic after 54 holes, the USCB men's golf team claimed the win on their home course, finishing with a 15-stroke lead over second place Shorter (+10) and 5-under 859 overall score.Â
The Sand Sharks end the final round at 2-over, holding a strong lead over the field. Beaufort had three top 10 finishes with Aaron Williams placing third overall. Ellis Bright and Erik Rengardt finished eighth and ninth overall. All three finished the final round with a 1-under 71 score.Â
Williams put together three solid performances with scores of 74, 67, and 71. He finished round three with two birdies and one bogey. The junior out of Maryland finished the tournament with only five bogeys and an impressive 10 birdies.Â
Ellis Bright started the third round with a bogey and double bogey and managed to bounce back adding six birdies to his card, ending 1-under for the day and 2-under for the tournament.Â
Rengardt showed a wide range of colors on his scorecard throughout the three rounds. Round one he posted an eagle on the par 5 11 while scattering birdies, bogeys and one double for the day. He started round three with a bogey on the par 3 third, but he bounced back carding three birdies with a lone bogey, finishing 1-under.
