MONROE – The USCB women's golf team wrapped up play at the Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon, posting a team score of 923 to finish 11th out of 17 teams in a field that featured four of the top 15 teams in the country.
McLain Neal was the standout performer for Beaufort, delivering an impressive 1-under-par 71 in the second round. Her round was marked by steady play, including four birdies and three bogeys. Neal found her rhythm on the front nine, posting a 34 to solidify her under-par score. She followed up with a 75 (+3) in the final round, finishing as USCB's top scorer for the event.
Florence Phan displayed consistency in her final two rounds, carding a 79 (+7) in the second round before rebounding with a steady 74 in the third. Her final round included a solid stretch of pars and a few well-timed birdies, keeping her among the top-performing Sand Sharks.
Jessica Edwards turned in rounds of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) to close out the tournament on a strong note. Camila Giordani and Manon Tortelier faced tougher finishes, with Giordani delivering a strong second-round 74 (+2) before struggling to an 84 (+12) in round three. Tortelier posted an 82 in the second round and followed with an 83 (+11) in the final round.
USCB wastes no time returning to the course, as the Sand Sharks are set to host the Oldfield Intercollegiate next Monday and Tuesday.
