BLUFFTON -- The USCB women's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the Oldfield Intercollegiate on Monday, finishing the day in seventh place overall after 36 holes of competition. East Florida State and SCAD Savannah are tied for the top spot on the leaderboard at 35-over.
Jessica Edwards led the Sand Sharks in the opening round, starting strong with three birdies in her first four holes. However, a triple bogey on the par-5 8th hole halted her momentum, followed by back-to-back bogeys on 9 and 10. Edwards managed to recover with birdies on 12 and 14, finishing the round at 4-over 76. She carded a 7-over 79 in the second round, bringing her two-round total to 11-over.
Camila Giordani showed resilience throughout the day. After struggling with a 10-over 82 in the first round, she rebounded with the team's best performance in round two, shooting a solid 3-over 75 to climb the leaderboard.
McLain Neal delivered a steady performance, finishing at 11-over after two rounds of play. Florence Phan and Manon Tortelier rounded out the Sand Sharks' lineup with totals of 21-over and 23-over, respectively.
