MORGANTON --USCB women's golf team wrapped up play at the Mimosa Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, securing an eighth-place finish on the leaderboard with a combined team score of 990.
Jessica Edwards continued her consistent play, matching her second-round score with an 8-over 80 in the final round. After opening her round with a double bogey on the 11th hole, she responded with a birdie sandwiched between four bogeys. Edwards then found her rhythm, carding five consecutive pars before sinking an eagle on the par-4 5th hole. She finished the tournament in 20th place with a 22-over total.
Camila Giordani made the biggest move of the day for the Sand Sharks, climbing six spots on the leaderboard. She posted a final-round score of 10-over, showing resilience in her play. Teammate Florence Phan matched her effort with another 10-over round, as both golfers finished tied for 43rd overall.
McLain Neal battled through the final round, finishing at 11-over, while Manon Tortelier completed the tournament with a 56-over total.
The Sand Sharks will now prepare for the Peach Belt Conference tournament on April 18-20 at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
