Bluffton, S.C - The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's basketball team has officially released the 2025-26 schedule. The Sand Sharks look to build off a 21-10 season a year ago that saw a trip to the Peach Belt Conference tournament championship game.
The schedule will consist of 12 home games out of the 28 total games for the 2025-26 season.
Non-Conference Highlights:
The men's basketball team will open the season in Florence, South Carolina for two games starting with the season opener against Emory & Henry University before facing Francis Marion University to close the trip. The Sand Sharks first home game will be on Wednesday, November 19th against Florida Tech with a 7:30 PM scheduled tip-off.
Peach Belt Conference Play:
Sand Sharks will start conference play on December 3rd against University of South Carolina Aiken for the first of an 18 game conference schedule. The first home conference game will be against Augusta on Wednesday December 10th. The home portion of the schedule concludes February 21st against Clayton State University before a road matchup against North Georgia ends the regular season on February 28th.
Coach's Outlook:
"I did not do our players any favors when we created our non-conference schedule. We match up against 2 teams that made their regional championship last season (UNC Pembroke and Alabama Huntsville), both on the road. We also scheduled another team (Fayetteville State) that made the NCAA Regional Semi-Final. We sprinkled our 1st Home Game vs. Florida Tech on Nov 19 right in between the Opening Conference Challenge (vs Emory & Henry/FMU) event at Francis Marion on Nov 14 and 15 and the trip to UAH (vs Christian Brothers/UAH)" stated head coach Ron Fudala. "We wanted to play multiple back-to-back contests and Top 25 teams to best prepare us for the opportunity of post season play. After the UAH trip, we go back-to-back again vs. Ferrum and UNC Pembroke. This is all before the start of the grueling Peach Belt Schedule. Our staff and players are very excited for these challenges."
Building Momentum:
The Sand Shark Men's Basketball team will look to build momentum off a strong 2024-25 showing reaching the Peach Belt Conference championship game after a 21-10 season and a 11-7 conference record.
