BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) Women's Golf team opened its 2025 season with a strong performance at the Golden Mane Classic, finishing second overall at Double Oaks Golf Club.
Leading the way for the Sand Sharks was sophomore Camila Giordani, who earned Peach Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week honors after tying for third place individually in the tournament.
Giordani put together a consistent showing in the season opener, improving as the tournament continued by round. She carded a 77 (+6) in the first round, then followed it up with back-to-back rounds of 74 (+3). Over three rounds, she totaled four birdies and 34 pars.
This marks the first Golfer of the Week award for both the Sand Sharks and the Peach Belt Conference in the 2025 season.
The Sand Sharks will return to action October 6th-7th at the St. Simons Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial University in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
