USCB Athletics Hosts Halloween Experience with Real Champions

BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — University of South Carolina Beaufort Athletics partnered with Student Life on Wednesday evening to host a Halloween Trunk or Treat event for Real Champions; bringing together student-athletes, student organizations, and members of the campus community for an evening of Halloween fun.

"USCB's Trick-or-Treat event was an experience like no other! Our kids had a blast showing off their costumes, collecting candy, and spending time with the college athletes," stated Kimberli Deering, Volunteer Coordinator and Community Engagement. "Trick-or-treating through the offices made the evening even more special. We are so grateful to Alison and the entire USCB Athletics staff for making this memorable experience possible for children."

Multiple Sand Shark athletic teams and campus clubs participated in the event, decorating their vehicles with festive Halloween themes and dressing up in their favorite costumes. Real Champions arrived in their Halloween best and had the opportunity to trick or treat while interacting with USCB student-athletes, staff, and student organizations throughout the evening.

"Sometimes it's the simplest experiences that create the biggest memories for children. For some of the students we serve, opportunities like this may not otherwise be possible. Seeing their excitement, smiles, and joy reminded us why community partnerships matter," said Cierra Witter Jenkins, Program Director, Real Champions. "We are grateful to USCB for creating an experience where our students could simply show up, have fun, and make memories. It's about more than trunk-or-treating; it's about creating opportunities and making sure every child feels included."

The festivities began outdoors, where participants visited decorated vehicles to collect candy and enjoy the Halloween displays. The event continued inside the athletic offices, giving Real Champions an opportunity to trick or treat, meet athletics staff, and spend time with our mascot, Finnegan.

The event provided an opportunity for student-athletes and campus organizations to connect with Real Champions in a fun, welcoming environment while celebrating Halloween together.
