HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team concluded day one of the two-day Battle at Hilton Head tournament. This marks the first tournament of the spring season for the Sand Sharks.
After day one, USCB is tied for ninth overall with a team total of 585 (316–269). Round two was not completed and will be finished Tuesday, followed by round three. Play in the second round was suspended with teams through holes 14–16.
The Sand Sharks were led by McLain Neal, who sits in the top five on the leaderboard. Neal is fifth overall with a total score of 139 after shooting a 75 in round one. She stands at +5 after day one.
Camila Giordani is tied for 19th overall with a total of 146 after posting a 75 in round one. She is currently at +9 for the tournament.
Manon Tortelier is tied for 67th with a total of 154 after an opening-round 84 finishing +22 for the day.
Anna Grace Brown is tied for 69th with a day-one total of 156 sitting at +23 after close to two rounds.
Izzy Codling rounds out the Sand Sharks lineup with a day-one total of 163 after shooting an 89 in round one.
The Sand Sharks will conclude their first spring tournament Tuesday afternoon with the completion of round two, followed by the final round of the Battle at Hilton Head.
