GAINESVILLE, Florida — The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's track and field team competed in the Peach Belt Conference Indoor Championships on Monday in Gainesville, Florida. USCB finished sixth overall in the conference standings, after breaking a couple of school records.
USCB set two new school records during the meet.
Victoria Colon led the way for the Sand Sharks, setting a new school record in the weight throw while placing second overall with a mark of 14.16m.
In the long jump, Chloe Campbell paced the Sand Sharks with a ninth-place finish and a mark of 4.97m.
Sydney Lee scored for USCB in the pole vault, placing seventh overall in the event.
Grace Wolfe added points in the high jump with a seventh-place finish and a mark of 1.47m.
The Sand Sharks found significant success in the shot put, totaling 11 points in the event. Victoria Colon placed third with a mark of 11.28m, followed by Patton Casto in fourth place.
Victoria Ingram finished ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.49m.
In the 60-meter hurdles, the Sand Sharks had two scorers, led by Priscilla Rodriguez, who finished with a time of 9.45, followed by Selah Moore at 9.54.
Zoe Turner placed eighth overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.02. In the 200-meter dash, Maggie Olsen added a point-scoring performance with an eighth-place finish.
Olsen recorded another top-eight finish in the 400-meter dash, placing fifth with a time of 58.95. Milani Edwards followed closely behind, finishing sixth overall with a time of 59.02.
The Sand Sharks' 4,000-meter distance medley relay team placed fifth overall with a time of 13:36.25. The team consisted of Chandler Riley, Avrie Farrington, Teresa Shepard and Kasey Thompson.
USCB closed out the meet with its final school record in the 4x400-meter relay, as Milani Edwards, Hannah Burnside, Alayla Thomas and Maggie Olsen combined for a second-place finish with a time of 3:59.38.
