OKATIE, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team closed out its home tournament, the Oldfield Classic, on Tuesday, completing rounds two and three of the event. The Sand Sharks finished eighth overall after a strong third round, posting team scores of 315-296-284. USCB's 284 in round three marked a four-under-par performance, the third-best team score of the day. Georgia Southwestern placed first overall, followed by Catawba, while Gabriel Hull claimed individual champion.
Octavio Laurent led the way for the Sand Sharks, placing eighth overall after carding his best round of the tournament in the final round with a 70 (-2). He improved each round (76-71-70) and finished tied for seventh in the field with 11 birdies to go along with 32 pars.
Christofer Hammar tied for 30th after improving each round, highlighted by a team-best 68 (-4) in the third and final round. He finished with a three-round total of 226 (80-78-68). Hammar tied for the team lead with 37 pars and added five birdies.
Dylan Allen was next for USCB, finishing tied for 38th with a 229. His best round came in the second round with a 74. Allen recorded eight birdies and 29 pars across the three rounds.
Nikolai Holme also tied for 38th with a 229, highlighted by a second-round 73. He tied Hammar for the team lead with 37 pars and added five birdies.
Aaron Williams placed 65th overall with a total score of 236, improving each round (86-79-71). His final-round 71 (-1) was his best of the tournament. Williams tallied eight birdies and 28 pars.
Rounding out the Sand Sharks' lineup were five individuals competing in the home tournament. Bode King led the group, placing 69th overall with a 237, including a second-round 73 as his low round. He recorded 27 pars and six birdies.
Jan Ciric finished 73rd overall, highlighted by a third-round 79. He totaled four birdies and 27 pars.
Alejandro Rivas tied for 81st with a 243, carding a 76 in the final round as his best score. He recorded 28 pars and four birdies.
Alfie Reynolds placed 83rd overall with a 246, with his best round of 78 coming in the second round. He totaled three birdies and 25 pars.
Tyler Quaill finished 88th overall with a 255, posting his best round of 78 in round two. He tallied 18 pars and five birdies.
The Sand Sharks return to action March 16 at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
