OKATIE, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team began the two-day Oldfield Intercollegiate on Monday morning. Play was suspended due to weather after only part of the first round was completed. Through 9–10 holes, the Sand Sharks sit in sixth place overall.
McLain Neal led the Sand Sharks on day one, staying even through the first nine holes with two birdies and five pars. She is currently tied for sixth place.
Camila Giordani sits at one over par after recording four birdies, tied for the most in the tournament, along with three pars.
Next for the Sand Sharks is Tatiana Ruesta, who sits at +3 on the scorecard and in 27th place overall. Ruesta recorded one birdie and five pars before play was suspended.
Anna Grace Brown is tied for 46th in the tournament at +5 after posting one birdie and four pars through the opening day.
Manon Tortelier sits at +7 and is tied for 57th place after carding two pars and one birdie.
The Sand Sharks also have three individuals competing in the tournament, led by London Eneas, who is tied with McLain Neal for sixth place. She is even on the day with two birdies and six pars.
Izzy Codling is 37th overall at +4 after recording seven pars, the most among the Sand Sharks.
Sofia Giordani sits in 69th place at +10 after finishing the day with three pars.
Day two of the Oldfield Intercollegiate will resume Tuesday morning, with players completing the first round before beginning round two to conclude the now 36-hole tournament.
