ATLANTA, GEORGIA – The University of South Carolina Women's Track & Field team concluded its opening outdoor meet of the season at the Emory Spring Break Classic on Saturday.

In the shot put, the Sand Sharks were led by Patton Casto, who placed 18th overall with a mark of 11.19m.

In the long jump, Victoria Ingram led the Sand Sharks with a 25th-place finish, recording a mark of 5.03m.

Sophia Stalford led the team in the discus throw, finishing 16th overall with a top mark of 33.35m.

Kasey Thompson and Sydney Lee tied for 16th overall in the pole vault, each clearing a final height of 2.70m.

In the 100m qualifying round, Milani Edwards paced the Sand Sharks with a 15th-place finish and a time of 12.55.

The 4x100m relay featured two Sand Shark teams. USCB was led by Melanie Simmons, Emma Kwak, LeeAisha Ford, and Dionna Rivers, who placed seventh overall with a time of 49.44.

Chandler Riley led the Sand Sharks in the 1500m, finishing 24th overall with a time of 5:21.28.

In the 100m hurdles, Priscilla Rodriguez led the team with a 17th-place finish and a time of 15.80. In the 400m, Alayla Thomas placed 36th overall with a time of 1:01.67.

In the 800m, Teresa Shepard finished 38th overall with a time of 2:36.11.
