MONROE, NORTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team competed in day one of the two-day Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate, hosted by Wingate University in Monroe, North Carolina, at Stonebridge Golf Club.
Leading the way for the Sand Sharks is McLain Neal after carding a 145 across the two rounds (75–70). Her second-round score of two-under par helped her move into 10th place on the leaderboard after day one. Neal led the team with seven birdies on the day, the fifth-most in the tournament, while adding 21 pars.
Camila Giordani sits second among the Sand Sharks and is tied for 56th overall. Her best round was a 76 in the first round. Giordani recorded a team-high 22 pars across the two rounds, along with two birdies.
Anna Grace Brown is tied for 75th overall after the opening two rounds, carding an 81 in both rounds. She recorded two birdies across the first day while adding 16 pars.
Izzy Codling sits in 84th after finishing day one with a 167. Codling opened with an 83 before posting an 84 in the second round. She recorded 11 pars on the day while adding two birdies.
Manon Tortelier is 86th overall after carding a 169. Her best round came in the second with an 82, and she finished the first day with 18 pars.
USCB women's golf will conclude play at the Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate on Tuesday, March 10th, before hosting its home tournament March 16–17th.
