HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's track and field team competed in day one of the two-day meet hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne. The Southside Power & Fitness Invitational is located in Hickory, North Carolina.
In the long jump, the Sand Sharks were led by De'Andra Brown, who placed 16th overall in the event with a mark of 5.03m.
Patton Casto gave the Sand Sharks their first top-10 finisher of the meet with a mark of 11.03m, which was the best finish for USCB on Friday evening in the event.
Avrie Farrington finished the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:26.24, one of four Sand Sharks in the event, as she placed 16th overall.
Hannah Burnside had the best individual finish, placing fifth overall with a final time of 1:06.79 in the event.
USCB closes out day two of the two-day meet starting Saturday morning.
