DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's track and field team completed day three of the Embry-Riddle Classic, hosted by Embry-Riddle. USCB finished 13th overall, with three athletes scoring for the Sand Sharks and breaking two school records on the final day. Embry-Riddle was the overall team winner.
In the 400m, the Sand Sharks were led by Zachariah Sellers, who finished in 48.99 to place eighth overall and earn a point for USCB.
Jakori Herring led the way for the Sand Sharks in the 400m hurdles, winning the event with a time of 51.46 while setting a new school record in the event.
In the 800m, Braxton Talley paced the Sand Sharks, placing 19th overall with a time of 1:55.67.
Devin Watson led the Sand Sharks in the discus with a mark of 41.98m as he placed 12th overall in the discus.
The triple jump was the third event in which the Sand Sharks scored, as Samuel Mitchell set a new school record. Mitchell recorded a mark of 15.08m, which met the national qualifying standard.
In the shot put, Jason Jose finished 12th overall with a mark of 13.27m.
