INNISBROOK, Fla. - After being tied for fourth after 36 holes, the USCB men's golf team surged into a tie for second in the final round of the Innisbrook Invite behind sub-par rounds from Dawson Peters and Jacob Thomas at the Copperhead Course on Tuesday.
Day Two Highlights
The Sand Shark squad picked up right where it left off after the second round, as it matched the second-round team score of 3-over 287. USCB finished in a two-way tie with Coastal Georgia at 24-over 876 (302-287-287) after 54 holes of action.
Following 36 holes without a Sand Shark to shoot sub-par, two golfers posted sub-par outings on Tuesday - Peters and Thomas. Peters posted a head-turning result at 3-under 68. In the final 18-hole round, Peters opened with a birdie and didn't post an above-par result until hole 12. However, he finished with two birdies in the final six holes. Overall, Peters surged 12 spots to finish in a three-way tie for fourth at 1-over 214 (74-72-68).
Thomas also posted a stellar round on Tuesday, as the senior leapfrogged eight spots on the player leaderboard to finish tied for 13th at 4-over 217 (75-72-70). In the final round, he went under-par with a 1-under 70 outing. The Canadian started his day with two birdies in the first five holes. After a bogey on six, he knocked down seven straight pars and nine consecutive holes of shooting par or better.
Jonas Demant stayed consistent from rounds two to three, as he finished the two-day, three-round tournament with a 2-over 73 performance. In the final round, Demant penciled three total birdies. Highlighting his day was shooting even-par 36 from holes one to nine. With his low score, he finished tied for 20th at 8-over 221 (76-72-73).
Tyler Fox and Fabian Fallenius rounded out the scores for USCB on Tuesday. Fallenius posted a 5-over 76 on Tuesday to finish tied for 38th, while Fox also matched his teammate on the player leaderboard at 14-over 227.
Keiser's top-two golfers - Jack Maxey and Wilhelm Ahlgren - finished one-two, respectively. Maxey finished with a 6-under 207, while Ahlgren shot 4-under 209.
Keiser also won the team title with an impressive 11-under 841 team score.

The Sand Sharks will return to the links on Oct. 3, as they will face off with SCAD at Savannah Harbor for a dual meet.
