BLUFFTON, S.C. - The NAIA's Continental Athletic Conference announced its annual All-Conference awards on the eve of its conference championship, and four USCB women's soccer players - Savanna Page, Mari Kalvatn, Adrianna Martin and Emily Worrell - collected All-Conference recognition. On top of the All-Conference honorees, senior midfielder Lexi Kaeser was named one of four CAC's Champion of Characters.
Page was USCB's lone player on the First Team All-Conference, as she was one of four forwards. During her rookie campaign, Page played in 18 games with 12 starts. She posted eight goals to go along with three assists and 19 points. She also collected two game-winning goals, which came against South Carolina State and Brewton-Parker. The Houston, Texas native scored at least one goal in six games this year, which included a pair of multi-goal games against Albany State and SCSU.
USCB had a trio of players on the Second Team All-CAC, as Kalvatn, Martin and Worrell were tabbed to that team.
Kalvatn, a midfielder, has played in 18 games with 16 starts. She has poured in nine goals and seven assists en route to 25 points in 2022. She also had two game-winning goals this year (Francis Marion and Converse) and has recorded at least one goal in seven contests. In her career, she has 44 tallies to go along with 26 assists and 114 points in 72 games.
As USCB's lone defender on the postseason awards, Martin saw her name as one of four defenders on the Second Team All-CAC. After sitting out last year due to injury, Martin was a key player on the backline, as she played and started in 16 games this year. She totaled over 1,300 minutes and ripped 11 shots. She recorded her first career goal, which came against South Carolina State on the road.
Rounding out the All-Conference honorees was goalkeeper Worrell. The sophomore from Keedysville, Md. is a four-time CAC Defender of the Week this year (eight player of the week honors including Peach Belt weekly awards). Worrell played and started 17 games this year. She started the year with five straight shutouts en route to ending the regular season with eight shutouts in 2022. She allowed 15 goals, which brought her goals against average to a stellar 0.92. She faced 125 shots and made 83 saves while earning nine wins this year.
The final award USCB earned was Kaeser being named a CAC Champion of Character. The Champion of Character is to instill values that builds character so students, coaches, and parents know, do and value the right thing on and off the field.
