BLUFFTON, S.C. - It didn't take long for senior Mari Kalvatn to make an impact on Opening Day at Fin Land Field Sunday afternoon, as the midfielder broke the school record for goals scored - her 36th of her career - sending a PK to the back of the net to help lead USCB to a 3-0 victory over Francis Marion.

How It Happened
The Stavanger, Norway native contributed on all three scoring plays in the victory, assisting on Page's first collegiate goal in the 22nd minute and adding to her all-time record by netting a second penalty kick in the 71st minute.
USCB's defense was rock solid throughout, only allowing the Patriots three shots on goal. Worrell picked up the shutout while racking up three saves. The Sand Sharks were relentless on the attack by out-shooting FMU, 17-10.
With the victory, head coach Jay Harris now owns a 3-2 career record in the season-opening contests.
