How it Happened
It didn't take long for the Mountain Lions to get on the scoreboard, scoring three off Krieghauser, but the Sand Sharks countered, starting the inning with four consecutive base knocks, while cutting the lead to one. Ambrose tied the ball game at three with an opposite field single to right.
Young Harris chased Krieghauser after belting two, two-run homers in the second. Brandon Blume came out of the bullpen, and the Mountain Lions continued to add on following Jackson Kemp's third home run of the series, breaking the game open.
The Sand Sharks scored a single run in the second. Following a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the third, USCB kept chipping away at the seven-run deficit, as Dawson got his first of the series, an RBI single to right and a ground out made it a five-run game.
USCB kept the pressure on the Mountain Lion's pitching staff, continuing to score in every inning. A hit by pitch followed by a bases-loaded walk preceded the biggest hit of the afternoon for the Sand Sharks, a Meyer three-run double down the right field line to trim the lead to one.
Rome Wallace doubled home a run in the fifth to make it a two-run game for Young Harris; then three runs in the sixth.
Being down by five and being kept off the board for two innings, USCB pushed across a run in the seventh after Meyer doubled to open the inning and was brought home thanks to a sac fly from Robbie Brown.
The Mountain Lions continued to flex its power after Marco Colina cleared the bases hitting YHC's fourth homer of the game to make it 23-14.
