BLUFFTON, S.C. - After a stellar week at the plate, senior USCB softball infielder Ashlyn Alte was named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Hitter of the Week after hitting .455 with two homers in five games. 

Alte, who played in all five games last week, went 5-for-11 in the games with Georgia Gwinnett and Columbus State. She collected two multi-hit games against both clubs as well as a career-highlighting performance in game two of the series with CSU. In that game, she posted two hits, both homers, which led to three RBIs and two runs scored. On the week, she ended with three runs scored and three walks.

On the year, Alte leads the team in batting with a .327 mark. She has 36 hits to go along with five doubles, five homers and 30 RBIs. 

Alte and the USCB softball team return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Coker. The non-conference doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. in Hartsville, S.C.
