At the completion of his internship at Saint Francis, Lambert joined the Sports Information Department at Cumberland University as a graduate assistant where he was the primary media contact for men's basketball, softball and women's volleyball during the 2015-16 academic year. The following year he worked with the Alumni Affairs Department where he was responsible for aiding in alumni giving and fundraising for the university while completing his MA in Sport Management in 2017.

While still at Cumberland University, Lambert was hired with the Atlanta Braves organization to help open its brand-new stadium Truist Park (formally SunTrust Park).
