BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The 2025 fall semester came to a close as USCB prepares for the 2026 academic and athletic spring semester.
The Sand Sharks posted a strong athletic semester and excelled in the classroom, finishing with a department-wide GPA of 3.345. The women's teams led the way with a 3.481 grade point average, while the men's teams recorded a 3.204 GPA.
Within the athletic department, the softball team finished the semester with the highest overall team GPA at 3.718. The golf programs followed, as the women's team closed the semester with a 3.677 GPA and the men's team with a 3.639, the highest average among men's sports.
"This semester's academic success reflects the incredible discipline and determination of our student-athletes as they balance the demands of sport and scholarship. We are proud of the way they represent our department and proud of their achievements. Their commitment proves that creating champions and leaders goes beyond competition and true excellence begins in the classroom" stated Genia Montford the Interim Director of Athletics.
The Sand Sharks had 45 student-athletes earn a perfect 4.0 GPA, and had 48 student athletes earn GPA from 3.70-3.99. In the fall semester the 4.0 student athletes included:
As the calendar turns to the New Year and the spring semester quickly approaches. Sand Shark basketball opens the spring semester on the road January 3rd before returning home on January 7th. Indoor Track & Field starts their spring semester on January 10th, Men's Golf January 30th, Women's Golf February 16th, Baseball January 30th, and Softball on January 31st.
