Top Plays: Mead earns fifth career win

BLUFFTON -- Ashleigh Mead finished her career as one - if not the most decorated - women's golfers in program history during her four years in the navy and sand. She capped a terrific senior campaign by picking up her fifth career win at the Patsy Redlemen Invitational in October.

After posting a pair of even-par rounds of 71 on the first day, Mead got the job done with a 5-over 76 in the final round.

She flew out of the gates on in rounds one and two, posting back-to-back scores of 1-under to take a six-stroke lead to the final day. She was red-hot on the back nine in round one, going 1-under par with three birdies including two consecutives on the 11th and 12th holes. The senior dominated the back nine the second time around, posting a sizzling 3-under 33 thanks to five birdies over the nine-hole span. Mead stayed strong with pars on her final five holes of round three to close out the fifth collegiate victory of her career.
