BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's and men's cross country teams will compete in the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Saturday morning, October 25, in Milledgeville, Georgia, at the Bobcat Cross Country Course located on the GCSU West Campus.

The women's 5K race is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 10:15 a.m.

The Sand Sharks will be competing in their sixth meet of the season after hosting back-to-back home events, a dual meet against Savannah State, where the women's team earned first place, and the 18th Annual Sand Shark Invitational.

Representing USCB in the Peach Belt Conference meet are Avrie Farrington, Sofia Mejia, Grace Napoli, Chandler Riley, and Teresa Shepard. The Sand Sharks enter the championship meet following one of their best performances of the season, as all five runners set new personal records in the 5K at the Sand Shark Invitational.

On the men's side, the team will also compete in its sixth meet of the season, with their most recent race being the Sand Shark Invitational on October 11th.

Competing for the men's team are Braxton Talley, Zachery Vowles, Elliott Howe, Beckett Jones, Ryan Kurz, Benton Cantrell, and Rickson Figueroa. Like the women's squad, the men had one of their strongest outings of the season at the Sand Shark Invitational, with five runners achieving personal records.
