Miami Gardens, FL- The USCB Sand Sharks took two this weekend from Sun conference rival St. Thomas University. The Sand Shark Opened the series with an 8-2 win Friday night. They split Saturday losing the first game 4-5 and winning the second 9-6. 

Game one highlights included a three run homer by DH, Jeremy Webb in the first inning followed by one run in both the second and third. Three more runs were scored in the fourth inning when Webb hit a RBI single, and Blake Sanders followed with a 2 RBI single. Pitching was the key for the Sand Sharks as Adam Miller went seven innings, striking out six and giving up two earned runs. McCullough picked up the save for the Sand Sharks 8-2 victory. 

The Sand Sharks came back Saturday for a double header, losing the first game 4-5, as St. Thomas tied it up in the sixth and scored the game winning run in the 9th. Game two was a different story for the Sand Sharks scoring 4 runs in the first off a 2 run RBI double by Gabe Torres. TJ Kemp and DeShontay Berry added two more to the books when each hit an RBI single. St Thomas answered back with four runs in the second inning, to tie the game. USCB put 3 more runs up in the sixth, but STU answered back with 2 runs of their own. The Sand Sharks picked up their final two insurance runs in the top of the seventh and held the Bobcats to win the game 9-6 and the conference series 2-1. 

The Sand Sharks now hold a 20-8 overall and a 6-5 conference records. USCB baseball is on the road Tuesday as they take on the Coker Cobras at 3pm. The Sand Sharks will be home this weekend in a series against Southeastern; first pitch 4pm.
