SAND SHARKS TAKE TWO FROM FISHER

HARDEEVILLE, SC-The USCB Sand Sharks won the first two games of a four game series sweeping a doubleheader on Saturday from Fisher College at the Richard Gray Baseball Complex . The Sand Sharks got two masterful pitching performances from Spencer Cromer and Jared Campbell to win by scores of 5-0 and 7-1. 

Cromer was dominant in game one limiting the visiting Falcons to just three hits while striking out nine Fishers batters. He walked only three and faced only 27 visiting hitters during the seven inning game. 

USCB scored their initial run in the third frame and Larry Perry singled, stole second and scored on David O'Neil's rbi single. 

After two strikeouts in the fifth inning, the Sand Sharks struck again. Weldon Smith had a two out single followed by Blake Sanders bring hit by a pitch. Perry drove home Smith with a single. O'Neil then walked before RJ Neal delivered two more runs with a single.

Two of the seven hits in game one came from second baseman Larry Perry. 

Game two was much like the first contest as Campbell only allowed one base runner through the first three innings. After two outs in the fourth frame, Fisher scored their only run of the day on three consecutive hits. Campbell would go on to pitch six innings allowing only six hits while striking out three. Matt Castro pitched the final frame for USCB. 

The Sand Sharks were led in game two by the four for four performance by centerfielder RJ Neal. Jeremy Webb and Gabe Torres chipped in with two hits apiece as USCB came up with eleven hits in game two. Torres hits also led to three rbi's. 

USCB and Fisher will conclude their series on Sunday with another doubleheader at Richard Gray Baseball Complex. First pitch is at 12:15.
