USCB COMPLETES SERIES SWEEP

HARDEEVILLE, SC-The USCB baseball team completed a four game week-end series against Fisher College on Sunday by winning their second doubleheader in consecutive days against the visiting Falcons by scores of 7-4 and 11-8 at the Richard Gray Baseball Complex in Hardeeville. The wins give the Sand Sharks a 13-6 record for the season. 

Ryan Kroko was the Sand Shark winner in game one as the senior right hander went four strong innings giving up just three hits. After Fisher scored four runs in the fifth, reliever Colton Rudd came on to pitch,shutting the door on the Falcons allowing only one hit in the final two frames. 

After two outs in the fifth, The Sand Sharks struck for five runs as a hit by Zack Rossetti and a walk to Clay Bonds put two Sand Sharks on base. A two run triple by Weldon Smith and a Blake Sanders two run rbi single put the first four runs on the board.. The rally continued as a walk to Larry Perry and singles by David O'Neil and RJ Neal added to the five run outburst. 

In the sixth frame, leftfielder Spencer Jackson led off with a line drive home run over the left field fence to give USCB a 6-4 lead. The Sand Sharks added their final run of the game an inning later as Jeremy Webb's pinch hit double set up a sacrifice by Sanders and then eventually scored on a Fisher throwing error. 

USCB had to play catch up in game two. After spotting the Sand Sharks two runs in the first, Fisher came back to score six runs in the second on five hits, a base on ball and an infield error. The Sand Sharks tallied two runs of their own in the second and third frames as Webb , Brandon Collins and DeShontay Berry came up with key doubles to fuel the rally. 

Trailing 8-7 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, the Sand Sharks scored three runs off Falcons reliever Kevin Michael . With two outs and O'Neil on first after a fielder's choice, Gabe Torres singled and both were driven home by Neal's double. TJ Kemp then drove home Neal with a single. 

USCB scored the eleventh and final run on back to back doubles by Berry and pinch hitter Jackson.
Matthew Graney and Coleman Farrell pitched the first four frames for the Sand Sharks before giving way to Jorge Olmo to open the fifth inning. Olmo got the win in relief giving up only three hits and no runs in three innings of work. 

USCB will be back in action on Tuesday as they will entertain Shawnee State University in a non league double header at the Richard Gray Baseball Complex in Hardeeville beginning a noon.
