BABSON PARK, FL- The USCB baseball team started their final regular season Sun Conference series with a win as they defeated Webber 9-3 Friday night. The win leaves the Sand Sharks still just a half game behind league leader Embry Riddle who defeated Northwood 11-1 on Friday. The victory is the 13th in a row for the NAIA 25th nationally ranked Sand Sharks as they run their over-all record to 37-10 and their Sun Conference record to 18-6.
Adam Miller was the complete game winning pitcher for the Sand Sharks as he gave up just six hits for his tenth victory of the season against no losses. Miller also recorded ten strike-outs.
USCB came away with 13 base hits as the Sand Sharks jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning as
TJ Kemp's double drove home two of the Sand Shark runs. Gabe Torres continued his hot hitting streak with three hits for the night including a two run homer in the sixth frame.
The Sand Sharks will conclude their regular season on Saturday again at Webber with a doubleheader scheduled to start at noon.
