SEVEN SAND SHARKS NAMED TO ALL CONFERENCE TEAM

RJ NEAL WAS ONE OF SEVEN SAND SHARKS NAMED TO SUN CONFERENCE ALL CONFERENCE BASEBALL TEAM
FT MEYERS, FL-The Sun Conference named seven USCB baseball players to the 2010 Sun Conference All Conference team named Saturday night in Ft. Meyers, FL. The awards were announced at the annual Sun Conference baseball banquet on the eve of the six team conference tournament which begins Sunday at the Boston Red Sox Spring Training Facility. The second seeded Sand Sharks will play the second game of the day at 3:00 against St. Thomas. Fans can watch the game via web sync at www.uscbathletics.com.
 
A pair of Sand Shark outfielders, sophomores Spencer Jackson and RJ Neal, designated hitter/first baseman Brandon Collins and USCB ace pitcher Adam Miller were all named to the first team while infielder David O'Neil, outfielder Larry Perry and relief pitcher Kyle McCullough received second team honors.
 
Jackson hit .403 for the year for the 38-11 Sand Sharks and led the team with 19 doubles. Neal, who played 46 games in center field, had an average of .367 and was second on the team in runs batted in with 42. Collins, a transfer from South Georgia College, led the team with six home runs and 48 rbi's while hitting .394.
 
Miller was the Friday starter for the Sand Sharks, ended the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. He had an earned run average of 3.17 in 13 game appearances.
 
Perry, a junior college transfer from USC Sumter finished the regular season with a .415 batting average and led the team with 52 runs scored. O'Neil, who split time between second and third base, had a .370 batting average and also had .987 fielding average. 

McCullough appeared in 14 games in relief for the Sand Sharks and had a stingy earned run average of just 2.63 in 37 2/3 innings of work.
