JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Sand Shark baseball team defeated former Sun Confernce member Edward Waters in a non league game played in Jacksonville, FL on Tuesday by a score of 6-5. USCB got clutch pitching by
Matthew Graney who went five inning giving up only four hits and two runs. Andres Castro hurled the final two innings and picked up the win.
The Sand Sharks hit well at the plate as Larry Perry picked up three hits in four plate appearances and also scored two runs. DeShontay Berry also picked up three hits and had two rbi's. Gabe Torres, Spencer Jackson and
David O'Neil contributed two hits apiece and all three got an rbi each.
Conald Mansfield had a run scoring rbi in the ninth frame that proved to be the game winning hit.
USCB will next be in action at home on Friday against Ave Maria as they move into conference play. Game time is set for 1:00 at the Richard Gray Baseball Complex in Hardeeville.
