The USCB Sand Sharks baseball team improve their record to 9-1, 3-0 in the Sun Conference, after another well-played day of games. The defense picked up where it left off and the team hit the ball well to help give Dexter Price the win in the first game. Price, an Auburn University transfer, pitched the complete game in a 13-1 defeat of the Ave Maria University Gyrenes. He went seven innings, recorded 9 strikeouts, and didn't give up an earned run or walk on the day. Deshontay Berry matched Mansfield at the plate in hitting a deep, two run homerun which put the Sand Sharks up 11-1 in the sixth inning. Berry took advantage of his second at-bat in the sixth with an RBI double that plated the 13
th, and final, run of the game for USCB. Berry finished 3-for-4 with four RBI's on the day.
In the second game of the day the Sand Sharks continued hitting the ball well in a 13-7 win to sweep the three game series from Ave Maria University.
