HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Tennessee Wesleyan's Taylor Oldham went 4-for-4 and delivered the two biggest hits of the day to lead the visiting Bulldogs to a 6-3 win over the University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball team Tuesday at Richard Gray Sports Complex.
The 18
th-ranked Bulldogs (16-5) took the lead for good with three runs in the third, capped by Oldham's two-run double off the left-field fence. The Bulldogs' third baseman also hit a solo home run in the second.
The Sand Sharks (17-5) briefly took the lead on
Keifer Youmans' two-run single in the second, but the Bulldogs regained the lead the next inning.
David O'Neil went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in the seventh to lead USCB's offense.
Levi Dean (2-1) earned the win for Tennessee Wesleyan, allowing two runs on three hits over six innings. He walked four and struck out five.
Freshman right-hander
Caleb Daniels (1-2) took the loss for USCB, allowing five runs on seven hits over three innings.
The same two teams play at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Sophomore right-hander
