USCB at Georgia Gwinnett
The University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball team hit the road Friday for a three-game non-conference series at Georgia Gwinnett. The teams will square off at 7 p.m. Friday at Grizzly Baseball Complex in Lawrenceville, Ga., before wrapping up the series with a doubleheader at noon Saturday.
The Sand Sharks look to continue their hot hitting after racking up 23 hits in a doubleheader sweep at Edward Waters on Tuesday. USCB won 7-3 and 11-2 in Jacksonville and has won five of its last six games.
The Grizzlies have won 10 straight and 10 of 11 after a 13-3 victory over Toccoa Falls (Ga.) on Wednesday. Georgia Gwinnett traveled to Hardeeville in its inaugural season a year ago and dropped two of three to the Sand Sharks.

SCOUTING GEORGIA GWINNETT
The Grizzlies have been one of the most productive offensive teams in the NAIA thus far in 2014, leading the nation in triples (9), runs scored (168) and RBIs (136) and ranking in the top 10 in stolen bases (2nd, 55), runs per game (3rd, 9.882), hits (6th, 180) and hits per game (10th, 10.588). They boast a team batting average of .330 (15th in NAIA) with Sloan Strickland (.417, 3 2B, 3 3B, 14 RBIs) leading the way. The pitching staff also has been solid, posting a 3.74 ERA and a .256 opponents' batting average. Alex Roberts (3-0, 0.89 ERA) and Tyler Carpenter (2-0, 2.00) have been the team's top two starters thus far.
